International Special Economic Zone, (ISEZ) will include an Expatriate Enclave with modern infrastructure and tax incentive package such as exemption of custom duties and taxes strictly on import of capital equipment. All the investment in the Zone for its development and subsequently for the industries within the Zone will be supplemented by all the benefits of SEZ ACT, 2012.
The Government of Sindh has earmarked 2,000 acres of land for International Special Economic Zone on National Highway in Dhabeji area of Thatta District. The land is near Port Qasim industrial area, which is only 50 kms from Karachi Airport. It is an ideal destination for establishment of new as well as existing businesses relocating from developed countries with availability of affordable and skilled labour force, and state-of-the-art infrastructure.
Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is signed with Japanese entrepreneur group M/s DTS Inc. Tokyo, represented by its President Dr. Hirano Takahashi for the establishment of Industrial Enclave on 250 Acres of land under Japan Special Economic Zone, Dhabeji, Thatta. The DTS group Japan will establish the most modern and advanced Industrial Enclave for attracting the investment ynder this initiative.
SBI will act as one-window facilitator for the project. Gas, electricity and other public utilities will be provided by the developer at the doorstep of the Zone. Captive power generation will also be allowed to the developers of the Zone. The Provincial Government is engaged with Japanese, Korean, Chinese and other potential foreign investors to finalize arrangements for infrastructure development of the Zone.
